Die GEWA verfolgt auf christlicher Grundlage ausschliesslich und unmittelbar gemeinnützige Zwecke, nämlich die Wahrnehmung der Anliegen von Menschen, die vorwiegend aus psychischen Gründen besonders herausgefordert sind, vor allem in den Bereichen der Arbeit und der Wiedereingliederung in Gesellschaft und Beruf. Zu diesem Zweck kann die Stiftung Arbeitsstätten, Haus- und Wohngemeinschaften, Beratungsstellen und ähnliche Einrichtungen errichten und betreiben, errichten und betreiben lassen oder sich an solchen beteiligen.
